The remote feels like it's made of cheap plastic. The battery cover was too difficult to take off, I had to use a blade to pry it open, pushing and sliding like a normal remote did not work. When I finally got the battery cover off, the battery tray seemed off. When I put the batteries in, one battery fell off. I noticed the metal spring was missing and was replaced by a folded piece of metal to act as a spring, but it was folded too far and provided no contact with the battery. I touched it to try and pull it out a bit and it completely broke off. Again cheaply made. I had waited over a month for this remote, so I replaced the spring with a folded piece of metal to make it work. Once together, I was able to connect it to my fan by pushing the "link" button in the back. The commands on the buttons work, but there is a short delay. You can 100% tell this remote is a cheap knock off. I would not buy this again. I would much rather buy an original Hunter Fan remote. This one was not worth it. Shipping was slow (item was back ordered) and the remote is cheap.
