The dual pack was necessary to use all of the features of our fan. We did not have the old remote, since the fan came with the house we bought and they didn't leave the remote. We have bought other remotes, but they didn't have all of the feature options we needed. This pack has everything you need to light both the top and bottom lights for the Hampton Bay 60 Model UC7058RY and run the fan at 3 speeds and in reverse 3 speeds. They don't make the original remote anymore, but this pack has what you need and every came with good batteries. Yeah!
