this remote was for a DVD/VCR combo. the remote had been lost some time ago, but without it, it was impossible to access certain functions on the player, such as any menus to control any of the more advanced functions. even the DVD menu was inaccessible without the remote. all you can do without the remote is play, pause, rewind, and fast forward.
