Although not exactly identical to the remote it replaces, it performs the same functions perfectly, and I prefer the bright facing to the black facing on the old one. Easier to find the buttons I need, especially without lighting. The fact is that the original was a poorly designed remote for an excellent receiver. The Pioneer Elite VSX23X is built like a tank and has performed flawlessly for ten years. The remote which is too narrow, forcing its button to be too small and too close together, has the quality of Cracker Jack prize. And it failed rather quickly I hope at least this one will last longer than the original. I could get a high quality universal remote, but with the old one it would have been impossible to program. I appreciate the quick turn-around on the order.
