This is a remote replacement for my window A/C unit. The other one went bad. My window unit will only turn on by the remote now so if I couldn't have got this remote I would have to buy a new A/C.

We have an air conditioner up high on the wall. You can't reach it unless you use a ladder. It's in an attic/bedroom. So yes, I needed that remote as fast as possible.
